Activate Pro
- Copy the license key from your purchase email or order page.
- Open Linxshot Preferences and find the License section.
- Paste the key and choose Activate license.
Activating Pro needs no Linxshot account. Your key is used only for licensing and is never included in library backups.
What your license covers
A Pro license is a one-time purchase. It lets you keep using the Pro features listed at purchase, on up to 3 installations: deep search across every capture, unlimited linked PDF exports, number, sticker and image annotations, selecting and copying page text, and custom hotspot colors. Pro also raises share links from 5 to 100 a day. Share-link limits follow the share service’s rules and may change.
Possible future services that rely on servers running continuously, such as cloud sync, aren’t included in the license. If they launch, they may be offered separately as a subscription. Features you’ve bought won’t move behind a subscription, and your Free features and local library aren’t affected.
Installation slots
Each Pro license covers 3 installations. The extension in one browser profile counts as one installation, and Chrome and Edge count separately.
Before moving to a new device, choose Deactivate this installation in the License section to free the slot. If the old device is no longer available, email support@linxshot.com with your order number.
Using Pro offline
After each successful validation, Pro keeps working offline for up to 30 days. When it needs to validate again, go online and choose Refresh license. Your one-time purchase never expires because of this.

- Linxshot works as Free until you go online and refresh. Your purchase and your library are kept.
- License unavailable
- The license or this installation is no longer valid. Reactivate your license or contact support.
Deactivating or returning to Free
Your captures, folders and settings stay. You can still view, organize, download and back up everything; only Pro features turn off. A custom hotspot color is kept and comes back when Pro is restored.
Common problems
- License invalid
- Check that you copied the whole key.
- Not a Linxshot Pro license
- Use the key issued for this product.
- All 3 installation slots are in use
- Deactivate an old installation first, or contact support.
- Can’t reach the license service
- Check your connection and try again. Your library is not affected.
